About
Welcome to Max's Sports Bar, where the thrill of sports and the joy of good food come together in a cozy, community-driven atmosphere. Nestled in the heart of Memphis at 115 GE Patterson Ave, this sports bar serves as a local haven for game enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
At Max's, the menu boasts a delightful array of scrumptious food options, highlighted by their BBQ Nachos. These nachos are made with Las Delicias chips, topped with award-winning pulled pork, shredded cheddar cheese, and a house BBQ sauce that's baked to perfection. Served with jalapeños and sour cream on the side, it’s a dish that has earned rave reviews for a good reason — it strikes the perfect balance of flavors and textures for just $13.00.
Not to be overlooked are their steamed subs, available in both 6-inch and 12-inch sizes. From the classic Max's Club Sub with turkey, ham, and smoked gruyere to the flavorful Turkey Pesto Sub drizzled with balsamic glaze, each sandwich is prepared with quality ingredients that guarantee satisfaction. Every sub comes with a side of chips, making it a filling option at $13.00 for the smaller size, and $19.00 for the larger.
What sets Max's apart is not just the food, but the atmosphere. Patrons have praised the bar for its friendly and attentive staff, making you feel right at home whether you’re there to catch a game or just unwind after a long day. Customers like David Schuster and Andrew Dotson have shared their experiences, emphasizing the warm, welcoming vibe that is hard to find in larger, more commercial settings. "It had that down-home local bar feel," says Dotson, perfectly capturing the essence of Max’s.
Moreover, the bar offers a solid selection of local draft beers, enhancing your dining experience. As one customer mentioned, it's the ideal spot to enjoy bar food while cheering on your favorite team. With a cozy capacity of about 40 patrons, the ambiance can turn lively in an instant, making it the ultimate destination for a night out.
In conclusion, Max's Sports Bar is not just another sports bar; it is a vibrant community hub that serves up delicious food and cold beers with a side of Southern hospitality. Stop by for a bite, stay for the camaraderie, and prepare to root for your team in a place that feels just like home.
“ Very comfortable sports bar, friendly and attentive staff, and good food. i loved my IPA and Italian sami with chips. Sami was nicely toasted but bread was soft, and just the right size. ”
“ Spent a night in Memphis and stumbled upon Max’s Sports Bar on google. Glad I did! It was a Tuesday night, so not a big crowd, but it defiantly had that down home local bar feel that you don’t find much of these days. Bartender was great and all the local patrons were more than welcoming. Good local draft beer selection and the BBQ nachos are a must. Probably the best I’ve had! Will definitely be back next time my travels bring me to the area. ”
“ Awesome dive bar to watch sports with buddies. Friendly staff, good food ”
“ Max's is the ultimate small but amazing sports bar. The bartenders know how to handle a packed house and the drinks are nice and affordable. To go with the drinks, I ordered a Turkey Sandwich with Chips and Cheese Sticks. I mean it was outstanding bar food. While Max's probably packs out with 40 folks in there, it is still a great establishment to patronize. ”
“ It's a great local bar, especially if you want to watch a sports game. The food is surprisingly simple but delicious. My only problem was because they were busy. The service was okay. We didn't mind this because we were watching the game. They were very attentive to our needs. ”
“ Foods way better than you’d expect for this little hole in the wall. If you want a cool hole in the wall place with great service and people that are regulars. I highly recommend this place. The front it looks really small but the back side of Maxs when it’s nice out is huge. New to Memphis and want to be a regular at a place. This is it. ”
“ NCAA madness. 8TV screens in a cozy corner bar. Great bourbon selection! So glad we stumbled in. Walking distance to Beale Street area. Park at the Lorraine Hotel lot. ”
“ Bar so good they named it after me ”
